Walking around our village in the gorgeous Pyrenees Orientales Departement 66
So todays excitement was going shopping for provisions. I love food shopping so we stocked up on all our favourite French food and had a quick look in Brico Depot. If you follow this blog you will become big fans of Brico Depot like we are. It's a cross between B&Q and a builders merchants. Today we were spying out Wrought Iron gates to try and stop the local cats, dogs, kids and lovers doing what they will in out Garden. Last week we left about 30 - 40 lbs of almost perfect apricots on out tree. Some the size of your fist. They are truly the best thing you have ever tasted in your life. We went to collect some for brekfast yesterday and they had ALL gone ! ALL of them ! I hope whoever ate them got a bad does of the sh*ts ! Next year it will be different. As our next door neighbour said, "It beings out the peasant in you !" It brings out the assassin in ME !
Anyhow we managed to forget the whole point of us rushing down to France for 28th July, our rendezvous with EDF (Electricite De France ) We called up (Pete ) wondering whether to do the grovelling thing ( The French see this as weakness and do nothing) or a bit of shouting ( The French admire this and do nothing.) So both ways you lose. Anyhow before showing his hand Pete enquired where our chap was and they said despite Pete booking this in June a computer hitch had caused the job not to be allocated so they weren't coming anyway ! They told him they would call us back to make another rendezvous..... and then the line mysteriously went dead.... Bon apetit M Electrictie....
So I will continue to blow the safety thingy, every time I forget that i can't have more than 2 electrical items on at once.... My dear freind Marina will have to shower on the Terrace when she comes on Friday.... whoops !
