Had a fab week really, very busy, in a lazy shuffling sort of way. Had a great day yesterday at Pam and John's in Albas collecting old vines to use as kindling for the winter woodburners.... photos to follow. Then had a swim and a lovely BBQ, lots of chat and got home about midnight.

Today it was back to the very high summer temps so we had an easy day. This morning I had a great MSN with Annabelle, she doesn't like video chat, I don't know why.

Then I had a mega video session with Nick and Sophie discussing Wedding plans which is exciting. I also had a lovely chat with Lissa and Holls who decided after being dragged off so that I could talk to Soph that they would rather watch TV. I loved this as I have assumed a normal place in their lives and they can chat to me ( us) when they feel like it. Pete had a nice long chat on the phone to Ben this morning too, so one way and another we have been in touch with all the family this week. Hopefully Josie will fit me in in the next few days. Ben sent us s lovely photo of Josephine in her new Wendy house which is very sweet.

I toddled off for a quick cuppa with Alan and later we had a chat with Ruby and Mike who will help us with some work in the house, also a quick drink with Paul a new neighbor and then off to Brico. We left the village at 6pm in 34 stultifying degrees.... it took AGES for the aircon in the car to kick in.

It was so hot after Brico for Petes new submersible pump for the well ( we have 2 don't you know ! ) we decided to scrap cooking dinner and buy a picnic and go to the beach to cool down. We arrived at the beach at 8pm and the temp dropped from 34 to 29 in 5 miles... I guess that's the effect of an onshore breeze.

It was gorgeous and Pete cooled off in the sea... I forgot my cozzy so just had a paddle. We sat close to the waves and had our meal as the light faded and the moon sparkled on the sea.... it was absolutely idyllic .

After dinner we wandered over to the cafe and had a nice espresso and came back in home to hear the village Grillade and Disco kicking off. I did consider going for a dance in the school yard but frankly was just too tired so came in and now and off to bed.... a very good day !
