Home Sweet Home.....

Wierd to feel that a little French village is home but we do !

We had such a lovely ( if frenetic ) visit to Cheshire and Yorkshire but wow are we tired now.

It went something like this

Tuesday
Flight Carcassonne to Liverpool. Car kept breaking down on way to airport ( ! ) then got bus and train to Winsford to pick up my car. Glamped in our Caravan whilst packing up the last of our stuff in 7 x 30 kilo parcels for the courier.... Parcels Please are amazing, 1 metre by .5 metre x .5 metre x max 30 kilo = £11.70 including VAT 1000 miles to S France .... amazing... 3 have arrived already !

Wednesday
Doctors appt for my thyroxine and mole ( not the animal ) scrutiny. More parcel packing and charity shop drops. Play with Holly, collected Alissa from school - a real joy to have the girls hurl themselves at us. Watched the girls feed the chickens. Went for final Wedding dress fitting with Sophie :-) !!!!!!!!, quick trip to Waitrose... lovely meal of scallops and salad then off to talk flowers to Jean Lloyd's. Jean is an absolute star and is stepping in to do the flowers at late notice. Must find a link to Jeans web site she has started a Wedding and Event flowers business... so clever  and creative ;-) back to Winsford to the van.... love that little caravan.... we plan to have holidays in UK when we come over next year ;-)

Thursday
Pete to Dentist.... more packing boxes
Lovely salad with Carol and Alan Whitehead, Carol is storing my Heartbeat outfites to save me carting them back and forth to France. Thanks for the lovely meal and use of the wardrobes and iron Carol ;-)
Over to Heartbeat for an early session with lovely Claire to check my Bass on the new fun song... ( more work def needed ) and then I got to sing on the risers with my wonderful Heartbeat Chorus in the lovely Marple Methodist Church Hall as part of Marple Festival... we had a very appreciative audience and a most amusing raffle.... Sophie came with Pete and we all repaired to the pub as usual for a good old giggle.... lovely got home at 1:30am v tired but happy.

Friday - The big one....
Left early and got to Ben and Gemmas near Skipton for 10:30am where we played with Josephine and had a lovely cuddle and a good chat with Ben and Gemma prior to them going off for the weekend to freinds in Suffolk.. Met Ross for a brief business meeting in Harrogate ;-), went on to Dad and Margaret's in Clitheroe, got bollocked for not ringing more often... got back to the van at 10pm shattered....

Saturday
Finished packing boxes, went to visit Grandma in Rochdale, took her in her wheelchair for a push in the park in the lovely fresh sunshine... she loved it and was thrilled to see Pete ( and me.) Showed her loads of family photos on my iphone which she was surprisingly adept with for a 96 year old !
Called in on Nick and Soph for a quick cuppa, catch up and a cuddle with the girls and a chat with Jakob.Got back to the van in time for X Factor and an Indian takeaway !

Sunday
Annabelle kindly picked us up from Winsford and took us to Liverpool Airport. We had a coffee and a chat and sauntered through to departures to be met with a crawling queue of about 500 people !!!!!!!!!! It moved so slowly through security that despite excusing oursleves and queue jumping we missed out flight. There were 3 of us not allowed on despite there being time to board. Think this may have been due to the
"gentleman" in front of us shouting and cursing at the staff and so they just dug their heels in..... I actually cried in frustration !

sooooooooooo we got a bus and a train back to Winsford as we didnt want to ask Annabelle to come back for us although she offered. By the time we got back to the van we had recovered our equilibrium and decided we would drive my Z3 back here as we wanted it down here anyhow.... just another £400 on the bill not withstanding a £20 ferry crossing....2 cheap hotels and services food, tolls and fuel !

We got home eventually on Tuesday night after picking Petes car up from carcassonne airport parking and it limping home and me getting stung by a wasp which hurt like hell and is still itching..... Phew !
